To be honest, I am a greens powder skeptic. I said it. I LOVE all veggies, but sometimes that “green” flavor just doesn’t appeal to my tastebuds. My whole MO (modus operandi) changed when I tried AmazingGrass. There is a hint of sweetness to it, which offsets the strong greens flavor. To be honest, it’s become one of my staples. One of my favorite snacks, meals, you name it.
The way I typically use it is pretty simple, and usually the same- but it is now near and dear to my heart so I figured I’d share the love.
Why AmazingGrass? It contains more organic whole leaf greens per gram than other green superfoods, not from concentrate which helps you achieve your reccommended daily servings of fruits and veggies. It helps to naturally detoxify and boost your immune system and contains probiotics and enzymes to aid digestion and absorption.
Why chia seeds? Chia typically contain 20% protein, 34% oil, and 25% dietary fiber. It is also the highest omega-3 nutrient source found in nature with perfectly balances omega 3,6,9 profiles and ratios. They’re considered a perfect food because it’s one of the few vegetarian sources of complete protein. They are loaded with calcium, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.
Why goji berries? They contain 18 different amino acids and 8 essential amino acids, they are one of the highest antioxidant containing fruits in the world, typically 2-4 times the amount found in blueberries. And Sunfood’s goji’s are so much better than many you’ll find. They are sweet and plump, not dry, hard and bitter- which makes them that much more enjoyable.
You will need:
In a blender, mix banana, greens, honey, ice, and almond milk. After blending, add chia seeds and goji berries and mix with a spoon. Refrigerate for about 30 minutes for chia to expand and enjoy! (note: you can blend the chia and gojis in during the blending process, but I enjoy eating chunks of them while sipping my smoothie)
