Stone Fruit Superfood Smoothie
Stone fruits are in season right now and the markets are full of cherries, plums, peaches, pluots, and more. For a simple smoothie grab your favorite stone fruit, a handful of nuts, a superfood powder, and nut milk for a tasty treat.
This peach maca smoothie doesn’t have that strong, overly sweet peach flavor that some imitation peach flavoring does, but the flesh gives a nice thick texture, and the maca pairs well. Another great pair for this peach smoothie would be lucuma powder, as it adds a little creamy caramel flavor, and slight sweetness.
Maca is a great little energy packed powder, used by the ancient Incans for strength and endurance. It adds a nice earth, malty taste to smoothies.
For this stone fruit super smoothie you will need:
2-3 small peaches, flesh removed (see how here)
handful of ice
handful of almonds of walnuts
1 tbsp honey
or coconut sugar
1 tbsp maca
1/2-1 cup almond or other nut milk to desired thickness
Blend well and enjoy!
