I love greens, don't get me wrong, but I've always preferred a sweet, fruit smoothie/shake above a green one. That is, until Amazing Grass Superfood came into my life. There's this really subtle sweetness to the amazingly fresh "green" taste in this blend. It's perfect on those days where I'm not getting as many vegetables in as I should.
I tend to overbuy when it comes to produce. I'm usually left with a ton, and racking my brain to find a way to use it all. I had some fresh local strawberries that needed to be used up pretty quickly, some kale, and some frozen pineapple in the freezer. I blended the three with one scoop of the super greens, a little ice, a sprinkle of coconut sugar, and went for the almond milk. Before my hand wrapped around the carton, I spotted some kombucha on the same shelf. Brilliant!
I added about half a cup of kombucha rather than milk and blended. The flavor won't matter too much, as most kombucha flavors aren't too strong or overpowering. The greens and fruit will likely overpower the flavor of your kombucha. What you WILL get from the kombucha though is this nice tangy flavor that balances so well with the sweetness from the fruit. It also adds a little fizz as my kombucha was a pretty fizzy batch.

2 small handfuls chopped kale
7 large strawberries
1 small handful pineapple, chopped
1 small handful of ice cubes
1 tsp coconut sugar
1/2 cup kombucha
