I can't believe it's already the halfway point of the January Whole30! I hope you're feeling awesome and have been having fun making some delicious whole foods in the kitchen. I've learned a few things this past 2 weeks and I can best summarize that in a few major points:
1. STAY PREPARED! You hear this over and over, but for real. It's the best way to stay on track with Whole30.
2. MIX IT UP! Keep meals fun and interesting. I got myself into a rut last week and thus found myself snacking too much. By experimenting with new flavors and cuisine types, you won't get into a food funk and cause yourself to want to graze and pick on different foods between your same meals.
3. Find your LIFESAVERS! Epic Bars are lifesavers when you're on the go. La Croix water is a lifesaver. Find things that you can go to in situations when you can't whip up a compliant meal. Our favorites are in the Whole30 Collection we've curated, here.
Here's a little peek at some of my meals. Seems that the theme of my Whole30 has been bowls. I roast a ton of veggies at the beginning of the week and make these big veggie bowls and drizzle with some delicious dressing or sauce before serving. Melissa Joulwan makes some amazing sauces for something like this. I've also discovered a 2 minute sauce favorite- check out the simple recipe below the photos!
In the photo immediately above this text, top right corner, with the avocado on top is one of my faves. It's a mixed roasted veggie bowl with some bacon, drizzled with my "magic almond sauce". Okay, so maybe it's not magic, but it makes a huge bowl of veggies taste really delicious and takes about 2 seconds to make!
In a small bowl, combine:
1-2 tbsp Dastony Almond Butter
1 dash ground ginger powder
1-2 tbsp broth
1 tsp coconut aminos (optional)
Mix well and drizzle over your bowl of veggies, dig in.
Alright folks, time to get started on the next 2 weeks! Hope it's treating you well
