That blue plastic neti pot that's sitting right now in your bathroom has got to be addressed. The one made of mass-market plastic with pre-mixed powder stuff to put in the water. Someone gave it to you. Maybe you bought it. Regardless, it's been taunting you ever since it appeared in your bathroom, "use me, you know it will help, what are you waiting for?" THIS is what you've been waiting for: the SteloKleen Neti Pot, elegant, serious, easy to use, and perfect. You are ready to neti.

For the true, true stories behind this incredible bodystuff, read on.

With all the comfort we have with what happens in our noses—taking antihistamines, blowing them multiple times per day, misting in a spray decongestant—you'd think that the idea of literally washing out the sinuses would be easy. After all, neti pots are sold at corner drugstores across the country. Someone must be buying these things, right? Perhaps we all have good intentions. Now's the time to give a neti pot a try. Here's how the practice is described by an expert:

A special "Neti Pot" is filled with warm, slightly salted water and the spout of the pot is inserted into one nostril. The position of the head and pot are adjusted to allow the water to flow out of the other nostril. The technique is not as hard or uncomfortable as one may think at first. You will be pleasantly surprised at this simple and effective method of health maintenance.

Once learnt, the practice can be done in about 3 minutes and is easily integrated into a daily routine of body cleansing such as showering or cleaning of the teeth.

Sounds pretty simple, right? It is. Let's give it a go with this gorgeous and easy SteloKleen neti pot. OK, wait, not quite yet. Maybe you're not ready. First let's talk about why it is so awesome.

Why a neti pot is good for your sinuses

Essentially, you're washing out your nose. What collects in your nose? Lots of stuff your body is trying to keep out of your lungs. Here are some benefits you might experience as a result:

Here are some of the amazing attributes of this device:

Stainless Steel Design

Sanitary. That's the first thing that should come to mind. This pot's stainless steel has many side benefits in addition to being non-porous and dang shiny. It will carry the warmth of your water as you hold it so you'll know if it's too hot - kind of like testing a baby bottle before you stick it in the kid's mouth. No lead solders are used at the joints, either - this is nothing but non-toxic metal. Plus, if you drop it, no problem (unlike all those ceramic pots out there).

Flared/Wide Nozzle

The tip is flared and wide, allowing a good tight fit in your nostril. The water irrigation happens smoothly and easily with no spillage of the fluid - every bit goes through your nose as it should!

All those neti pots you see at drugstores? Waaaay too small. In order to get all the therapeutic benefits of neti-ing, you need a lot of water flowing through your sinuses. This is the only neti pot we've discovered that has enough capacity to really make an impact. Because you've got better things to do with your time than refill your neti pot several times while using it, right?

How to use a neti pot:

It's rare for a product here at Barefoot Provisions to require instruction, but this is a special item and we think you'll be blown away by your experience. The instructions are necessary yet simple.

Here are answers to some of your most important questions!

How should cleansing the sinuses feel?

A bit invigorating, in fact. At first, a little weird, sure. But so did your first time toothbrushing with powder, right? And that's old hat at this point in your life.

How should I take care of the neti pot?

The stainless steel is tolerant of sterilization if you happen to have a home autoclave, but that's unlikely. For the most of us, giving it a quick wash and rinse after use, and some air drying is perfectly fine. It is dishwasher safe, and if you have a high-heat machine you can add some extra reassurance about cleanliness.

I have a zillion other questions!
