I know I should be eating lots of veggies every day. But sometimes, despite the best of intentions, I don’t quite get there. Or maybe I have some avocado and carrots, but don’t really reach my greens quota for the day. Enter the amazing folks at Amazing Grass. They’ve pulled off the seemingly impossible. They’ve created a green powder that’s not only nutritionally amazing, but actually tastes good. If you’ve been an occasional consumer of green powders over the years, you’ve probably had the following experience: mix powder with water, swallow quickly, wrinkle nose in disgust, hold nose, swallow the rest, put jar of swampy-tasting powder in fridge, throw out in a few years when cleaning fridge. Yeah, the problem with a lot of green powders is that they taste like swamp. So you have to either drink it plain with water, and try to ignore the swampy taste, or mix it with a tasty smoothie, which improves the taste of the powder, but makes the otherwise-delightful smoothie taste a little like swamp. Either way, chances are you’re not going to make the offending powder a regular part of your life.
So when I first tasted Amazing Grass Berry Green SuperFood, I was blown away. It actually tastes good. Which, for a green powder, is saying a lot. It has this great berry flavor, with an undercurrent of chocolate (from the acai) and a little bit of tanginess. The “green” dimension tastes toasty and mellow, not at all swampy. Berry Green SuperFood is totally drinkable on its own with water, great with juice, and it’ll actually enhance your smoothie — not ruin it. Its delicious berry flavor will convert even the most skeptical greens-hater.
Yeah, this stuff rules the green powder aisle from a taste perspective. But it also rules nutritionally. A full spectrum of alkalizing green superfoods, antioxidant rich fruits, and support herbs unite with acai and maca to provide a powerful dose of whole food nutrition. I don’t drink coffee or tea, but I can feel my energy levels rise if I have this first thing in the morning. Check out all these benefits:

My favorite way to drink this is with just water, first thing in the morning, for a caffeine-free energy boost an hour or so before I make a smoothie. I like to take a 16oz glass jar with a lid (recycled from nut butter), put in a scoop of powder and 12oz of water, put the lid on, and shake shake shake till all the powder is dissolved. Sometimes I’ll have another scoop in the late afternoon, just for an extra bit of energy. I feel like I’m drinking pure planty life force. With no swamp creatures.
With demand at the office growing every day for 'Grandpa’s greens,' Brandon and Todd ditched their corporate jobs and started Amazing Grass on a kitchen table in San Francisco. Now, a decade later, this grassroots company is the leading producer and distributor of organic Green SuperFoods. For over 60 years, their family farm in Kansas has perfected the growing, harvesting, dehydration and storage of organic alfalfa and cereal grasses - ensuring optimal nutrition in some of the world’s most nutrient dense green SuperFoods.
Today, Amazing Grass offers the most powerful vegetable on earth, consumable in a convenient way that aligns with our hectic lifestyles. Eat Grass! Get Healthy!
Not all cereal grasses are created equal. Tray grown wheatgrass juice you find in most juice, smoothie or grocery stores is different from field grown dehydrated wheat grass. In fact, most field grown cereal grasses are different from Amazing Grass.
Amazing Grass is field grown through winter and harvested just once a year. Other grasses are grown in warm climates and cut 7 or more times a year, which results in decreased nutrients.
Because it is grown in THE BEST soil for growing cereal grasses. Just as oranges grow best in Florida and California, cereal grasses grow best in the Midwest. Soil scientists have known for years that the central plains of the Midwest have some of the most fertile soils in the world. In fact, most of the production for wheat and other cereal grains come from the Midwest. Cereal Grasses planted in the fall and grown through the cold winter are nutritionally superior to crops grown elsewhere because the grass develops a huge root structure that acts as a sponge to absorb nutrients in the mineral-rich soil.
Amazing Grass is certified organic and we don’t use herbicides or pesticides. Our belief of putting back more into the soil than we take out ensures the most nutrient-rich cereal grasses you can get. Amazing Grass includes organic (red hard winter) wheat grass, organic barley grass, organic alfalfa, organic oat grass and organic rye grass. All grasses grow longer and cost more to produce, but the quality, superior nutrition and resulting health benefits are definitely worth it. Our proprietary harvesting procedures and safeguards ensures the lowest plate counts, coliforms, yeast and mold counts available with no irradiation.
