Spicy Beef Jerky by The New Primal - 2 oz

Do you enjoy long walks on the beach, quiet evenings at home, and your jerky to set your mouth ON FIRE? Good. Me, too. The New Primal has created a jerky just for us, fragrant, flavorful and flaming hot with both jalapenos and cayenne pepper to perk things up. I won't haggle over details here: this jerky is spicy. Those with a high heat tolerance will find it pleasantly warm, while those with mild sensibilities might need a glass of raw milk at the ready. Just a warning and a caveat. Are we good? Ok. 

Now, let's talk about the fans of chewy tender jerky, because you are the crowd that will be pleased. Chewy jerky fans love moist and tender cuts, full of flavor and umami and punch. This is where The New Primal thrives. Take this beef jerky, for starters. Tear open the simple and lovely packaging—red color for spicy—and peek at the morsels inside. Each one is not only moist and chewy, but vibrant with meatiness and salt. Each bite leaves me wanting just a little bit more, while the spices fire up the salivation and perhaps even a little bit of perspiration. Clearly the flavors are working well.

That's what I like about this spice formula - just take excellent quality grass-fed beef from only the best sources and add a few flavor friends (a little garlic here, a little paprika there) that let nature set the course for how the jerky is going to taste. But then, things are amped up. The introduction of both jalapenos and cayenne pepper in this recipe nudges up the flavor about ten notches, then cools it down with a touch of honey and pineapple juice. Everything is rounded out with the tartness of cider vinegar and a bit of salt. Done!

Our grass-fed beef comes solely from the vast, rolling hills of New Zealand. In nature, good things take time. Our cattle are humanely raised on family farm pastures, where they are free to mature naturally and feed on grass year round without ever being injected with growth hormones or antibiotics. Due to New Zealand’s neutral climate and year-round grass growth, there is never a need to supplement their food in the winter. We use only whole muscle cuts from the top-round of the animal. The use of GMOs in agriculture is illegal in New Zealand, so there is never a risk of GMO runoff contaminating the soil (as is the current challenge with the majority of US Raised Beef).

Why grass-fed beef is so good for you

Every day, more and more people are submitting to the revitalizing benefits of natural grass-fed meat.   3. Spices that balance and enhance. Garlic, paprika, ginger, and more, all in amounts that complement rather than compete.
  4. It's perishable (sort of). Mass-market jerkies might survive the apocalype, but The New Primal is real food and you should eat it in a few months after purchase. Not that you'll have any problem with that, in my experience.
