Paleo Acai Smoothie Bowl

A fun way to use Sunfood’s wonderful acai powder is an acai bowl. Have you ever had a big bowl of this yummy stuff from a juice or smoothie shop? Well with this acai powder, you can totally make your own, and even better, completely customize it. Acai is high in protein, and contains an almost perfect essential amino acid complex in conjunction with valuable trace minerals, vital to proper muscle contraction and regeneration. It contains a complex and powerful blend of antioxidants, essential fatty acids, vitamins, and amino acids. Truly a superfood

First, make some hemp milk. Take 3 tbsp hemp seeds, and 1 cup of water and blend for about 30 seconds. It should turn milky. Hemp seeds are great because they have a slight nutty flavor, and create a great base for this bowl. They also contain a whopping 10+g of protein per serving! 


Next, add 2 tbsp of acai powder, and 1 tbsp of honey to the milk in the blender and blend well.

In a medium sized bowl, add 2 to 3 tbsp chia seeds. These are packed with fiber, protein, omega-3 fatty acids, and antioxidants

Pour acai mix over seeds and stir, mixing well. Refrigerate for about an hour, stirring halfway through. Add more chia if needed to create a pudding like texture. 

Finally top with some berries, banana, more chia, coconut sugar, coconut flakes, or my favorite, mulberries, goji berries, or a drizzle of honey.
