Paleo CocoMacaCoffee Smoothie

I got some tasty inspiration from theKitchenMix to do a maca, coconut, and coffee smoothie today- and it came out beautifully. 

Why maca? It contains an excellent amount of protein, amino acids, fatty acids, and antioxidants. It also is great for a boost of strength and endurance, as well as having aphrodisiac properties-yowza!

Why coconut? It’s full of health-boosting lauric acid and medium-chain triglycerides, and it’s been show to help with weight loss, boost energy, help with Alzheimer’s and cognitive function, nourish the thyroid, boost metabolism, and much more. 

Why coffee? The question is, why not?! If you don’t do caffeine you could sub carob in this recipe. Or just omit completely for a maca coconut smoothie!

You will need:

  • one banana
  • one cup almond milk
  • 3-4 ice cubes
  • 1 tbsp coconut butter
  • 1 tbsp instant coffee
  • 1 tbsp maca
  • 1 tbsp shredded coconut
  • 1 tsp raw honey
  • optional: 1 tsp vanilla extract or vanilla bean
  • optional: sprinkle cinnamon

Mix well and enjoy!
