Fat Frapps: Iced Coffee + Strawberries & Cream

My first Starbucks experience didn't hit until I was in late high school. I grew up in a somewhat small town so we didn't have our first 'bux until I was around 18. At the time I didn't drink coffee, but not long after discovering Starbucks, I discovered their Strawberries and Cream Frappuccino. No coffee, lots of sugar + whipped cream = a happy Alyssa. It's been years since I've had one, but after getting our hands on the new vanilla emulsified MCT oil from Natural Force, a "frapp" type drink sounded just right.

Vanilla MCT Oil

This MCT oil is great because if you're not making a blended beverage, it mixes with liquids with just a stir, unlike regular MCT oil which might just float atop liquid. The vanilla flavor has the right amount of subtle sweetness, but no actual sweeteners are added. This is serious nutrition, no sweet tooth triggers whatsoever. It's made from 100% coconut, sourced sustainably.

MCT oil is one of the best and most metabolism-revving kinds of fat out there. It has been known to help give quick energy, fuel your brain, and boost ketosis. Read more on it here

Here's how to make it

You can put this in ANYTHING, but I figured a coffee drink, and my favorite old 'frapp would be a great start. I'll call these "Fat Frapps" because instead of being loaded with sugar, they're both full of metabolism boosting, satiating fats.

For the Iced Coffee Frapp, you'll need:

2 handfuls ice

1 - 4 Tbsp creamer (use these Nutpods or coconut milk if avoiding dairy, cream or heavy cream if going full fat dairy)

8-16 oz cold brew coffee (we love Chameleon!)

1-2 tsp Natural Force Emulsified Vanilla MCT

1. Combine all ingredients in a high powered blender and blend until thoroughly combined and ice is no longer in cubes.

My ice in these coffee shakes turns out more like a big fuzzy chunk of ice, making the coffee drink more like a snow cone, but It makes it super easy to sip without giving you a brain freeze.

For the Strawberries and Creme Fat Frapp, you'll need:

1 handful of ice

1 - 4 Tbsp creamer (use these Nutpods or coconut milk if avoiding dairy, cream or heavy cream if going full fat dairy)

Additional milk or water as needed to thin

10-12 strawberries

1-2 tsp Natural Force Emulsified Vanilla MCT

honey to sweeten (or stevia if trying to keep this as low carb as possible)

1. Combine all ingredients into a smooth, thick shake and pour into a glass. Sip and enjoy!
