Myrrhaculous Face Cream by FATCO

Myrrhaculous Face Cream by FATCO

Other face creams promise youth in a bottle, winking and smirking as your plunk down fat bills one after another. FATCO, on the other hand, simply talks about "myrrhacles": the results that happen from healthy oils and botanicals soaking into your skin all night, softening, pampering. The magic is in the myrrh, massaging those tired skin cells with its healing properties while the carrying oils soothe and deliver nutrients of their own. No weird synthetic goo, here; you'll love what you are putting on your skin. ~

For the true, true stories behind this incredible skin-stuff, read on.

Good things come in small packages. This little jar is proof positive of that theorem and stereotype and belief. Like all skin creams, it packs a whallop with nutrient density and active ingredient potency. After cleaning your face—with something else calming and natural like FATCO's cleansing oil, or the equivalent—you'll have rosy and soft skin, a perfect clean and neutral template for taking on some concentrated finishing balm like Myrrhaculous Face Cream by FATCO.

All you do is open up that jar and take a small (or a big) sniff, letting the botanicals hit your nose like a flower of beauty sleep. Then, take a tiny bit on your (dry) fingers, and start to massage it on your face, spreading thinly and widely to cover every square inch. (Just take care to steer clear of the eyes—this is not an under-eye cream.)

That's it. The first time I used it and went to sleep, it was almost a small dose of aromatherapy as I drifted off, dreaming of plump babies' cheeks and dew drops and flower blossoms all night long. Not really; I dreamt about the huge list of stuff I needed to do the next day, because . . . who doesn't? But as those thoughts played across the movie screen in my mind, I would catch the sensation that I'd done something nice for myself. Something good for my skin, maybe even myrrhaculous, was happening while those other worries were playing themselves out. THAT is what helped me sleep better. It's taking one load off the camel that can make the difference over the next days and weeks. After that happens, your mind's in the right place so it's easy to start paying closer attention to overall health, treating your body as a work in progress that needs patience, nutrients, and love.

Why FATCO's Myrrhaculous Face Cream is so good for your skin

Potent, potent, potent. That's where we start. A good healthy dollop of grass-fed beef tallow goes into this jar, the nutrient-dense base for a laundry list of other healthy oils. Just listen to this: Coconut Oil, Shea Butter, Jojoba Oil, Pumpkin Seed Oil, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Avocado Oil, Rosehip Seed Oil, Evening Primrose Oil, Borage Oil, Moringa Oil, Argan Oil. That's a lot of oils and a lot of benefits combined into one smooth cream.

Look, here's the thing. You absolutely can rub a little bit of coconut oil or tallow or any of those oils above on your skin for healing. What you receive from FATCO is the unique combination of those dozen oils, plus essential oils, that is formulated and tested with care and rigor. Are YOU going to take tiny amounts of each and every one of those oils, sourced organically, and blend them up in a food processor to make your own? Heck, no. Or, at least, highly unlikely. Thank the lucky stars for a jar like this, and the freshness of ingredients to warn you to keep it tightly closed and don't let any water in to lessen the shelf life. It's potent, sure, but it is also bracingly fresh.

Why does it seem so fresh and awesome? Simple! First, FATCO believes that only nourishing, healthy and natural substances should be applied to your skin. Therefore, they use only the highest quality ingredients in all of their products.  You can rest assured that when the label says "Natural," that it REALLY means Natural! All of FATCO's products are made by hand in small batches to ensure maximum freshness.

Here are some of the amazing ingredients in this Face Cream

Grass Fed Tallow

Healthy, ‘toned’ skin cells with sufficient saturated and monounsaturated fats would undoubtedly make for healthy, toned skin. Interestingly, tallow fat is typically 50 to 55 percent saturated, just like our cell membranes, with almost all of the rest being monounsaturated, so it makes sense that it would be helpful for skin health and compatible with our cell biology.

Another strong indication of tallow’s compatibility with our skin biology is its similarity to sebum, the oily, waxy matter that lubricates and waterproofs our skin. Indeed, the word “sebum” actually means “tallow” in Latin and began to be used in this biological sense around the year 1700. The sebaceous glands, which secrete sebum, are found in greatest abundance on the face and scalp, but they are distributed over all of our skin except on the palms and soles. Sebum is made up of lipids (fats) of which 41 percent are in the form of triglycerides, and the lipids of tallow are principally in the form of triglycerides, which is how fatty acids are usually configured in nature.

Coconut Oil

Used by tropical peoples for hundreds of years, coconut oil is full of skin loving fatty acids and nutrients. It allows the skin to breathe (unlike petroleum) and also is full of antioxidants, minerals, and aids absorption of vitamins. Find it as part of the base and key lubricants in this Fat Stick.

Essential Oils: Lavender, Myrrh

The potency of essential oils when added to a luscious neutral oil base like this jar makes for little bursts of aromatherapy, both at the time of application as well as later on over a few hours. No, it's not that easy to smell one's own elbows (try it!), but your poor dry hands that got a little dose of the fat stick are also smelling real nice.

Myrrh essential oil... boy oh boy is this stuff potent. The package even carries a warning that it is stimulatory to the uterine and therefore should not be used during pregnancy. What can it do? It's anti-lotsofthings. Antimicrobial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, even antiviral. Your skin is going to love all of those properties as well as the nourishing jolt from the oil's stimulating effects. Makes you want to bathe in just myrrh oil, eh? That would be just a bit excessive, and probably expensive.

How to use Fat Face's Face Cream

Scoop out about a pea-size drop and massage into your skin, being careful to avoid the eye area.

Please take care as to not get any moisture/water into the jar. All of our products contain No Preservatives, so introducing moisture to the product can create an environment that is conducive to bacteria and mold growth. Always wash your hands thoroughly before using the product, and replace lid tightly to maintain freshness.

About Fat Face, in their own words

A simple question: what the heck is in my skincare products??? is what led to the creation of FATCO.

"I'm sure some of you are a lot like us... You CARE about the food that you put into your body because you KNOW that it effects the way you feel, look and function! And you know that good food choices will keep you Healthy for many years to come! So WHY don't we put the same amount of thought and effort into the stuff that we put ONTO our body!?!?

I'll tell you's because we think it doesn't matter. But it DOES! Did you know that your Skin is your largest organ, and that most of the stuff that you put on your skin is absorbed and processed by your body!  Pretty much every store-bought product contains ingredients you wouldn’t dare to eat. And unfortunately, words like "Herbal", "Natural" and "Organic" don't mean SQUAT! They have no legal definition.

Did you know that aluminum, which is found in many traditional antiperspirants, has been linked to breast cancer? And that other things like Parabens and Phthalates have been linked to reproductive damage and birth defects? Yet these are products that we put on our skin Every Damn Day!?!? How in the H-E-Double-Hockey-Sticks has this become the "norm"??? Have you ever read the ingredients list on some of those products that you use??? Well, if not, I think we all need to start. We've learned to read labels on our food, so now let's start learning to read the labels on our skincare products!

We've learned that if you wouldn't EAT something, then you shouldn't put it on your skin! But in our quest for pure, raw, natural skincare products, we didn't find anything that fit our criteria we decided to make our own! And this is how FATCO Skincare was born!"

Why is fat where it's at? Lots of reasons, starting with your own body's composition.

  • Our brains are comprised of nearly 60% fat. Essential fatty acids are among the most crucial molecules that effect our brain's ability to perform.
  • Fat aids in the absorption of vitamins A, D, E, and K. These vitamins are fat soluble, which means that they can only be absorbed if there is fat in a person's diet. So you can keep taking all those expensive supplements, but without adequate Fat in your diet, they'll end up leaving your body just as quickly as they came in, without being absorbed and used.
  • Adequate fat intake is essential to growth and development. Young kids, especially, need a certain amount of fat in their diets to help the brain and nervous system develop correctly.
  • Fats are the building blocks of hormones
  • Fat is necessary for insulating all nervous system tissues in the body.

Even more about FATCO: the Founder's Story:

"Hi, I’m Cassy. Mechanical Engineer turned Skincare Engineer. Nice to meet you!

I think that our society is at a crossroads. For a long time, we’ve sustained ourselves on allowing others to be responsible for our health. Now we’re at the point where we’ll pretty much eat anything that has the word “natural” on the package. And if you look around you can see the effects (obesity, heart disease etc).

But in the words of Tupac Shakur, “It’s time for us as a people to start makin’ some changes!” We need to start taking responsibility for the things that we consume. We need to start reading labels and understanding what we are putting INTO and ONTO our bodies. Our health is no one’s responsibility other than our own.

If you’re at all like me, you care a lot about the food that you eat. You do this because you know that it affects the way you feel, look and function.  And you know that good food choices will keep you healthy for many years to come! So why do we put so much energy into the foods that we put INTO our body, but hardly any thought into the stuff that we put ON our body!?!?

Our skin is our largest organ, and everything that we put onto our skin gets absorbed and must be processed by our body!  Unfortunately, almost every store-bought product contains ingredients we wouldn’t dare to eat.  If you wouldn't EAT something, then you shouldn't put it on your skin. In my quest to find pure, raw, natural skincare products, I didn't find anything that fit my criteria I decided to make my own! And this is how FATCO Skincare was born!

All of our products are hand-made in small batches to ensure freshness and quality.

FATCO specializes in making Organic, Natural, REAL skin care products that aren't full of preservatives, chemicals & toxins. We believe in using healthy fats to nourish our skin instead of dry it out! We use plant based fats like organic coconut oil and raw shea butter, as well as tallow from pastured, grass-fed cows.

Remember, FAT is your FRIEND!"

Here are answers to some of your most important questions!

Can pregnant ladies use this face cream?

NO! PLEASE NOTE that this product contains Myrrh essential oil. It is advised that women do not use this oil (or products containing this oil) during pregnancy, as it can act as a uterine stimulant. Ok, that answers that.

Are there any preservatives in FATCO's products?

We use absolutely no artificial preservatives in our products. We believe that we should treat our skincare products like we treat the food that we feed our bodies. We personally try to stay away from pre-packaged foods with long shelf lives, so why would the rules change for your skincare products? Most of our products have a shelf life of anywhere form 6 months to 1 year, and we recommend customers to use these products within the recommended times on the bottle.
