Mango Pineapple Protein Bar by RXBAR

Tropical fruits are such a wonderful blessing for we modern humans. Even bananas were considered a treat as recently as our grandparents' youth. Now we can pick up a nearly-ripe pineapple or a fragrant mango from the store as easily as milk and eggs. The only drawback is fitting that pineapple in your gym bag for post workout nourishment. Often we rely on protein bars or shakes with somewhat dubious ingredients, all towards the end goal of getting some protein in our muscles as quickly as possible. Tropical fruit, meet protein! Both of y'all, meet the gym bag! That's where this Mango Pineapple RXBAR comes in. Each chewy bite delivers the awesome flavors of mango and pineapple and the punch of real food protein. It's a portable recovery snack to satisfy the jaw, sate the tummy, and keep you humming until your next home cooked meal is ready to serve.

For the true, true stories behind this incredible foodstuff, read on.

Chewy and toothsome is where it's at for protein bars. My palate does not do cartwheels for squishy or soft-baked protein bars. RXBAR heard my command and they have handed over this bar with everything I could ever desire, all packed into one wrapper, one rectangular bar of goodness. This tangy yet sweet, healthy yet satiating Mango Pineapple flavor is a welcome member of the RXBAR family. Even those of us who reach for a nutty or chocolatey bar over a fruity flavor will find this tropical recipe too delicious to pass up.

Each bar starts with a sweet and fruity scent from big pieces of dried fruit blended into the nutty almond and cashew base. Each bar still carries RXBAR's beloved recipe with dates and egg white protein to bring satiation and chew to the party. All ingredients from almonds to cashews to the mango and pineapple builds upon the rest for the perfect package, bite by bite.

RXBAR started making bars for those of us ready to "graduate" from the tried-and-true date/nut bars. Those date bars are still delicious, make no mistake, but they can be very sweet and never did have much in the way of protein. As for the rest of the field, other "healthy" protein bars love to add things like rice or hemp or soy protein or "natural" sweeteners just to bind everything together, ingredients that might not be aligned with our nutritional goals. RXBAR meets everyone half-way perfectly: start with dried fruit and nuts, add a few spices, add some egg white protein, and . . . that's it.

Like all of the rest of the RXBAR flavors, this is a satisfying hunk of a meal or snack, from first to last bite. It won't leave your teeth aching nor your jaw unexercised (that's a good thing!).

RXBAR was conceived by two friends who wanted a better protein bar option. Here's what they say about why it all began, "RXBAR was the first real food fruit and nut protein bar on the scene. Friends since grade school Peter and Jared were inspired by the lack of a REAL FOOD protein bar. All of their favorite snack bars either lacked protein or were chock full of artificial preservatives and ingredients. They headed into the kitchen, got cooking, and RXBAR was born.

We started RX in our kitchen. No venture capitalists. No consultants. No office. Just best friends. Eager and broke. Upfront about it. We don’t have anything against conventional wisdom. We just don’t always follow it. Even today - we’ve got healthy ambitions, the usual insecurities, and all the other stuff that keeps us human. And this will never change."

Why RXBAR is so good for you

Peter and Jared promise that their bars will never contain these ingredients: Dairy, Soy, Gluten, Added sugars, Artificial sweeteners, Whey, Artificial ingredients, Sugar alcohols, GMOs, or Preservatives. Need they say more?

Here are some of the amazing ingredients in RXBARs:

Dates are the main source of sweetness in these bars, and a natural preservative and source of awesome chewiness. Dates are vitamin and mineral-rich — they’re particularly high in iron and vitamin K.

[Egg Whites]

Egg whites are one of the best sources of protein. Unlike more conventional sources, egg white protein is immediately absorbed into the body due to the naturally high biological availability. In addition to the high-quality protein content, egg whites are jam-packed with minerals and amino acids essential to keeping your body healthy.

Cashews have a rich supply of oleic acid, a classically beautifying oil, great for skin and hair. It also reduces your blood triglyceride and low-density lipoproteins (LDL), and elevates your high-density lipoprotein (HDL) concentration. Cashews are also rich in linolenic acid, which can effectively lower your blood pressure, and also has antioxidant properties which defend your blood vessels from free radicals. Cashew nuts are very rich source of essential minerals, especially manganese, potassium, copper, iron, magnesium, zinc and selenium.
