Spicy Mango Activated Sprouted Trail Mix creates a fusion of sweet, spicy, and crunchy ingredients, offering a dynamic experience in each bite. It’s alive with chunks of chili & lime seasoned mango, antioxidant-rich goji berries, crunchy sprouted almonds & seeds, and other exotic dried fruits. And for the final touch, the whole mix is seasoned with Himalayan pink crystal salt and a unique, smokey habanero chili powder. The salty-smoky-spicy kick brings out so many wonderful flavors in all the different ingredients — it’s hard to go back to eating regular trail mix after tasting this. ~
I’ve had an uneasy relationship with trail mix all my life. Back in the 70s, I was the kid whose mom would pack a “healthy” lunch, which would often involve a bag of trail mix that consisted of unsalted raw nuts, raisins, and these nasty little dusty cylinders that I think had something to do with figs. I’d eat the nuts and raisins reluctantly, leaving the strange cylinders behind. Later on, I branched out into the sorts of trail mixes that were mainly excuses to eat chocolate chips and chocolate-covered nuts. I’d immediately pick out anything having to do with chocolate or sugar, and the rest of the trail mix — nuts and seeds and raisins, usually — would languish behind and eventually get thrown away.
As my palate and standards improved, and I learned about soaking and sprouting nuts, I moved away from pre-mixed trail mixes altogether — most of what I found tasted half-rancid, or contained nuts that were mainly raw or roasted. I started making my own mixes of the highest-quality dried fruits and soaked/sprouted nuts, and all was good.
And then, at a natural foods show one year, I came upon the most delicious, inspired, and flat-out mindblowing trail mixes I’d ever had. And from then on, I’ve never gone anywhere without a bag or two in my backpack.
What makes these so special? It’s all about bold flavor and creative contrasts. The master alchemists at Living Intentions have chosen original combinations of nuts, seeds and fruits, and then seasoned everything perfectly so that the nut-seed-fruit mixes are taken to a whole new level of deliciousness.

Why soaked and sprouted?
Soaking and sprouting are ancient techniques, developed by our wise ancestors to make certain foods, like nuts, seeds and grains, more nutritious and easier to digest. These foods evolved chemical defense mechanisms to protect themselves until the proper growing conditions came about — enough moisture to help them burgeon into sprouts. Most nuts, seeds, and grains simply aren’t easily digested unless they’re soaked for a while, to awaken the mechanisms that say, “Hey, time to sprout!” and unleash an amazing series of biochemical transformations. The soaking and sprouting process brings natural resting enzymes to life, increasing bioavailable nutrients. Increased nutrients and live enzymes aid digestion and strengthen the body’s natural healing process, increasing vital energy and wellness. The soaking and sprouting process also minimizes or eliminates nutritional inhibitors and toxic substances such as enzyme inhibitors, phytates (phytic acid), polyphenols (tannins), and goitrogens. We recommend soaking and sprouting any nuts, seeds and grains that you plan to eat (unless someone else has already done it for you). The soak/sprout/dehydration process takes a bit of planning ahead (and a dehydrator), but it’s well worth it for the health benefits it confers. It also makes nuts and seeds taste amazing — extra-buttery and satisfyingly crispy-crunchy.
