There are all kinds of gimmicky cookie flavors out there, from drizzled coconut thingies to healthy recipes that involve carrots and oats. Yeesh. Now, a chocolate chip cookie? WB Kitchen has created a cookie dough treat full of real ingredients. ~
For the true, true stories behind this incredible foodstuff, read on.
What is something beloved from childhood or just sometime in the past? Campfires. Mom's meatloaf. Roadtrips. Chocolate Chip Cookies. Yes. While cookie "innovation" never ceases to amaze, you cannot go wrong with the classic flavor of a simple dough studded with chocolate bits. Texture? Check. Sweetness? Check. Chew? Yep, it's here in this little circle of comfort from WB Kitchen. Each cookie is neither crunchy nor crumbly. They have a bit of softness, a tender/soft/fudgy aspect, leading to the sense that one is nibbling on a bit of cookie dough. Mmmm, cookie dough. It doesn't get much better, does it?
When WB Kitchen decided to make cookies, they started in the right place - from a paleo mindset. What's great about these is the real ingredients at the core. Almond flour, honey, coconut, cacao nibs, vanilla.... Everything works together to bring a smile to your face and a warm glow in your belly. The added bonus is a hit of maca powder which adds some earthiness and herbal goodness to your day.
All of WB Kitchen's cookie varieties start with nut flour and honey, then add key flavors to create each delicious variation - from cocoa for the brownies, to maple and pecans for the "sandies", to cacao nibs for these chocolate chip delights. Organic ingredients are used predominantly, ensuring that nutrition standards are high and sustainability is supported.
Why are WB's Chocolate Chip Cookies so good for you?
Ok, they're not in-and-of-themselves a health food, but when you're ready to step away from the store-brand sandwich cremes, WB Kitchen's Chocolate Chip Cookies are a wonderful stepping stone toward less-processed foods. They are a satisfying treat for anyone. Made with high-quality ingredients, masterfully sourced, totally gluten-free, these are nutritionally impeccable. Here’s what’s going on inside:
Raw Unfiltered Honey
Raw Unfiltered Honey keeps all of the best parts of this delicious sweetener intact, from the heat-sensitive enzymes to the rich floral aroma and clean taste. WB Kitchen sources only bee-friendly honey from Colorado to use in all of their honey sweets products. Have your cookie and feel good about the future of bees, to boot!
Almonds are naturally delicious and extremely nourishing. Healthy fats, fiber, antioxidants, calcium, zinc, selenium, copper, magnesium, manganese, tryptophan and vitamin E are just a handful of the key nutrients that make almonds so nutritious. Almonds are so nutritious — their list of benefits reads like a patent medicine bottle. They’re full of health-giving fats, like oleic acid and linoleic acid, powerful antioxidants that can protect against many forms of cancer (oleic acid can protect women against breast cancer specifically), and can also significantly lower the amount of LDL in your blood, and reduce your risk for heart disease. Almonds can effectively improve your complexion, slow down your aging process, help improve your blood profile by reducing your LDL, build a strong immune system, prevent the onset of high blood pressure and protect you from other diseases like ADHD, asthma and osteoporosis. They can also help speed up your metabolism, and work well in weight control. A wonderful natural sweetness and impressive variety of nutrients makes almonds one of nature’s most perfect foods.
Maca is traditionally known to support hormone balance, and increase libido and energy (similar to ginseng and other adaptogenic foods). This amazing superfood comes from the hardy maca plant, which thrives high in the rugged Andes Mountains. Maca has been a traditional Peruvian health and vitality secret for thousands of years.
Coconut has been used by many cultures worldwide for thousands of years, and is well known for its many amazing properties. Coconut is so nutritious, its list of benefits reads like a patent medicine bottle. It’s full of health-boosting lauric acid and medium-chain triglycerides, has antimicrobial and anti-viral qualities, and has been shown to help with weight loss, Alzheimer’s, cognitive function and athletic performance. It nourishes the thyroid, helps prevent candida overgrowth, boosts the metabolism, and makes skin and hair softer. Also, it’s one of the tastiest things a person could eat. (No offense, sea veggies.)
