You! With that shaker bottle! Stop right there and tell me what's in that bottle. Protein, sure, sure. But what kind? If you don't know that your protein is easy to digest, protecting of your gut health, and sustainable, don't fret. Just pick up some Vital Proteins. Your shaker bottle is practically quivering to get some of this: Grass-Fed Whey with Collagen, spiked with cacao, sweetened gently with only coconut water. Electrolytes, probiotics, flavanols, and, of course, the best protein. Could it get any better?
Shaker bottle devotees: you now have a new friend on your post-workout recovery team. Full of the most sustainable and absorbable protein around—grass-fed whey—this powder from Vital Proteins puts the muscle back in your hustle. Forget about those protein powders with lots of weird ingredients and extra sweeteners - you don't need that stuff. What your body craves is rather simple: good protein and some helpers for digestion like fermented cocoa flavanols and probiotics. That's it. In this jar you'll find those basic ingredients and no more.
It all start with whey. Grass-fed whey for both absorption and sustainability. But whey isn't enough—to get benefits for your joints and for your digestive system Vital Proteins has added their tried-and-true collagen peptides to this mix. But those two things all by themselves don't make a very tasty blender bottle of fun, so we're going to add chocolate. Fermented cacao to be exact. And then coconut water for a bit of sweetness and a good dose of electrolytes. Top it all off with probiotics, hyaluronic acid for joint health, and even more cocoa flavanols for good measure.
This is a protein powder you can enjoy just with water, if you choose. I like it shaken up with a hit of coffee and maybe a skosh of heavy cream: the world's most recovery-friendly iced mocha. Or blend it with ice for the same thing but "frappucino'd". Really, this stuff is about as tasty as protein powder gets and with this nutritional profile there's no reason to hesitate making this your #1.
Here are just a few of the benefits to this protein powder:
There are tons of ways to use your protein powder. Start with the blender bottle and get creative. Down the hatch! However, if you're a frequent consumer of protein powders, or if the flavor is getting a little boring just mixed in that bottle, some inspirational recipes come in.
Add it to any kind of smoothie on the planet. Kale smoothie, fruit smoothie, Liz Wolfe's liver smoothie (Google it, really) - go wild. (Although maybe not the chocolate flavor powder for the liver thing....)
How about a recipe from Vital Proteins themselves? Here's one for the chocolate season (which for some of us is 365 days out of the year): brownies! To see the full recipe with far more detailed instructions, click here.
Cocoa Whey Brownies
1 c. coconut palm sugar
2 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 tsp. sea salt
1/2 c. butter, ghee, or coconut oil
10 oz. dark chocolate chips
3 tbsp. cacao powder
2 scoops Vital Proteins Cocoa Coconut Collagen Whey
Directions: heat oven to 350 and grease up an 8x8 pan. Combine eggs, sugar, vanilla and salt and beat until fluffy. Just barely melt together the chocolate and butter, then pour while mixing into the eggy mixture. Beat it all again, then stir in the cocoa and whey powder. Almost done!
Pour all of that into your pan. Bake 18-22 minutes, taking it out when not quite done - it will set up! That's it. Chill and share.
Vital Proteins helps people feel better and live fuller lives through sustainably-sourced nutrition products, promoting health, fitness and natural beauty. We do that by providing nourishing collagen and promoting our production of collagen - an essential nutrient stripped from our diets by modern food-processing.
We know that while our bodies’ collagen production slows as we age, our need for it only grows as our bodies become less efficient and we maintain a vibrant life. And Vital Proteins believes that if you want to, you can make the most out of every moment you’re given - that your body shouldn’t be a limitation, but a catalyst.
Our products are natural sources of essential proteins, sourced from pasture-raised cows in Brazil and New Zealand and wild-caught fish in Hawaii. Why go so many extra miles for these sources? Because there’s nothing more important than one’s health, and we believe the body needs and deserves high-quality building blocks for life’s adventures.
Whether we can help add a mile to your run, a glow to your complexion or just enrich your naturally vibrant life, there’s a protein for everyone, and more than one reason to love Vital Proteins.
